Up to date Job Board

Our job board is updated on a daily basis by our Client Service Navigator. We post jobs from the local area as well as opportunities a little further away. We try to post jobs that we think our clients will be interested in.

Reference Library

We have plenty of reference materials on post secondary education, labor market information and employment trends as well as books on job search and other relevant employment topics.

Internet Job Search

We have 2 client computers onsite for job search, employment insurance application and doing labour market research for a particular job.

Resumes & Cover Letters

All staff at Open Doors can help you with your resume and cover letter. We will type, update, fax, email and copy your resume and cover letter. Once we have your resume on file you can come in at any time and get copies for your job search.

Workshops

We offer a number of workshops and events throughout the year. Our workshops include such topics as resume and cover letter writing, interview skills and job search techniques. We also offer a spring job fair and a bi-annual career expo. One of our most popular workshops is our 10 week portfolio development workshop.

Employment Counseling

Our Employment Counselor is always willing to work with clients who need a little extra help. We will help the client do a needs assessment and develop a return to work action plan. This plan could include returning to school to get your GED, taking a course at a local college or finding employment in your field.

Employers/Community Organizations

Our staff are always willing to meet with employers and local community organizations to identify additional programming to suit the needs of our clients. We can help you develop a job posting, post it on our job board and meet with you to discuss our clients needs.
