Welcome to Open Doors Career Resource Centre

The goal of Open Doors is to increase the employability of residents of the North Shore. We do this by providing employment services such as:

• Maintaining an up to date job board of local job postings
• Maintaining a reference library of post-secondary education and labor market information
• Providing access to the internet for job searches
• Maintaining an odd job registry
• Producing, updating, faxing and emailing resumes and cover letters
• Providing employment workshops (i.e. Interview Skills, Portfolio Development, Job Fairs, Career Expo, Job Search Techniques) and;
• Providing employment counseling (i.e. Needs Assessment, Action Plan & Case Management)

Successes

• Over 8000 people have come through our door since 2002
• Approximately 500 have been case managed
• We have held over 110 workshops with 1250 people attending
• Approximately 160 people have secured odd jobs
• Over 100 clients have returned to school or received skills development
• Over 425 case managed clients have found full or part time jobs
